Wen Chou was a prominent general serving under Yuan Shao, a powerful warlord during the late Eastern Han Dynasty in China. He appears in the historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, primarily known for his military prowess and bravery on the battlefield.

He was considered one of Yuan Shao's "Four Pillars," alongside Yan Liang, Zhang He, and Gao Lan, highlighting his importance within Yuan Shao's army. Wen Chou was particularly distinguished for his skills with the spear and his fearless demeanor in combat.

Wen Chou's most notable actions involve battles against Cao Cao's forces. He inflicted significant losses on Cao Cao's army at the Battle of Boma, demonstrating his combat effectiveness. He ultimately met his end during a subsequent engagement, falling victim to Cao Cao's strategist's plan. While a skilled warrior, Wen Chou's impetuous nature and tendency to underestimate his opponents ultimately led to his demise.
